Children Language Program

  • Is offered to learners 6-18 years of age. We welcome children and young adults of Czech and Slovak descendants, many which come from diverse families.
  • Is “student centered” using a communicative approach. Based on age and level of profficiency in the Czech or Slovak languages, participants are divided into groups as learners of a language as their primary language and/or learners of a language as their second language.
  • Educates participants in the Czech and Slovak language arts, our ethnic history, folk music, and traditions.
  • Offers participants opportunities to present their skills at events sponsored by the center and enables them to represent our heritage in the community.
  • Teaching sessions last 2.5 hours and take place on Fridays from 5 - 7:30 pm, on Saturdays from 9:30 - 12:00 pm and 12:00 - 2:30 pm (unless otherwise determined).
  • The Children Language Program is held from the start of September until the middle or end of June (unless otherwise determined).
